Despite Coronavirus pandemic predicament, IASIS PHARMA, with high sense of responsibility, successfully participated as a Gold Sponsor in the “25th Hellenic Conference of the Helicobacter Pylori & other Digestive Infections”. The conference was organized by the “Hellenic Society of Gastroenterology and the “Hellenic Society for Infectious Diseases” and was held at the amphitheater of the Hellenic Gastroenterological Society, on 6 & 7 November 2020.
IASIS PHARMA promoted its unique Herbal Medicinal Product: Mastihatherapy® caps. Mastihatherapy® caps, with Pistacia Lentiscus L. resin (Chios Mastiha Resin) as its active ingredient (350 mg/cap) is used for the symptom relief of Functional Dyspepsia.
The medical society showed great interest for this Traditional Herbal Medicinal product [European Medicines Agency – E.M.A. recognized, 2015], with a history dating back to 2500 BC and numerous references from historical ages. The continuous scientific research has most recently been focused on the “Purification of Chios Mastic active constituents and Development of Analytical Methods for Quality control Purposes” and the “Development of Analytical Methods for the Qualitative Specification of the Active Ingredients of Mastihatherapy® caps”.
It is worth mentioning that more than 500 participants, mainly healthcare professionals, had the opportunity to watch online the Round Table entitled: “Chios Mastic Gum” and to be informed via video projection about:
a) the participation of IASIS PHARMA in the Research Model Center for Chios Mastic Gum (Chios Mastiha Research & Development Center, based in Kallimassia, Chios), as well as
b) for the new state-of-the-art Production Facilities, Product Distribution Center and Research & Development Center of IASIS PHARMA, based in Koropi Athens.
During the event, IASIS PHARMA Round Table took place, with coordinators Dr. M. Tzivra (Emeritus Professor of the University of Athens, Pathologist – Gastroenterologist) & Dr. Ch. Zavos (Specialist Gastroenterologist – Hepatologist, Doctor of Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), where experienced speakers focused on the interesting following topics:
- Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of Chios Mastic Gum (speaker: Mitakou S., Pharmacist – Professor of the Department of Pharmacognosy and Chemistry of Natural Products, Department of Pharmacy/UOA),
- Chios Mastic Gum, a resin with unique properties, (speaker: Dr. M. Halampalaki, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacognosy & Chemistry of Natural Products, Department of Pharmacy/UOA),
- Effect of Chios Mastic Gum on the biodiversity of the intestinal flora and its clinical importance, (speaker: Dr. Th. Rokkas, Professor, Director of the Gastroenterology Clinic of the “Henry Dunant” Hospital Center).
