This is a new, innovative, and unique formulation belonging to the class of DPP-4i. It is an R&D and manufacturing product by IASIS PHARMA HELLAS.
Each 1 mL of Sitagliptin/IASIS oral solution contains sitagliptin hydrochloride monohydrate, equivalent to 25 mg of sitagliptin.
Superior to Solid Dosage Forms & Optimal Adhearence:
Sitagliptin/IASIS 25 mg/mL oral solution represents an excellent therapeutic option, specifically designed for patients facing swallowing difficulties (dysphagia). It provides patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with rapid bioavailability, high dosing accuracy, ease of titration, and optimal treatment compliance.
Dosage and Administration :
The recommended dose is 100 mg (corresponding to 4 mL of oral solution) of sitagliptin once daily, taken with or without food. The solution is slightly opalescent, off-white, featuring a pleasant wild berry aroma.
Suitable for Special Patient Populations (Renal Impairment):
According to the Summary of Product Characteristics (SPC), no dose adjustment is required for patients with mild or moderate renal impairment (GFR ≥ 45 mL/min). For patients with GFR ≥ 30 to < 45 mL/min, the dose is adjusted to 50 mg (2 mL of solution) once daily, while for severe renal impairment (GFR < 30 mL/min), the dose is 25 mg (1 mL of solution) once daily.
Packaging & Ease of Use:
Sitagliptin/IASIS is supplied in an amber glass bottle. To ensure maximum dosing accuracy and convenience during administration, the pack includes a 5 mL graduated plastic syringe in 0.5 mL increments.
